Description
A wet cave with 6 to 12 feet (1.8 to 3.6 m) deep water, a muddy chamber and speleothems (calcite splash formations) was initially explored by members of the Chiltan Adventurers Association of Balochistan (CAAB) to lengths varying between approximately 41 m (Durrani Khan 2003.05.18 Mss) and 52 m (Mandokhail 2003.01 Mss) but later by Brooks, S J (2006.10.27 Survey Summary 2006.xls), Hayatullah 'Hayat' Durrani Khan and others Brooks (2006.10.27 Mss: Cave Exploration in Pak#43C.doc) to 48.1 m at a vertical range of 8.4 m (Brooks 2006.10.27 Mss: Survey Summary 2006.xls). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2003a: Full of water & 6-to-12 feet deep water in the cave & 52 meters (Muhammad Ali Mandokhail 2003.01 Mss, literally quoted). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2003b: Lamboor Cave [note 1]. Length: 41 Meter, (Approx). Entrance: 1.5¥2 Meter, water stream entrance in the middle one Chamber and found mud on the floor of Chamber some stalactites and stalagmites are also found in upper side and end of cave (Hayat Ullah / ayatullah Durrani Khan 2003.05.18 Mss, item n°6, literally quoted). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2006: … Lamboor Cave … is truly unique in Pakistan being the only known active stream cave that has been found to date. Although containing a modest 48 m of passage this resurgence cave begins as a chest deep canal that opens into a chamber containing a waterslide, a pool and a large number of Juniper Tree Roots that have penetrated the cave roof in search of water. Calcite splash formations cover the walls and many of the Juniper Roots are calcified as well. At the top of the waterslide is a short section of vadose streamway, that is again another first in a Pakistan cave. (Brooks, S J 2006.10.27 Mss: Cave Exploration in Pak#43C.doc). SITUATION 2003c: Western Quetta Aghbarg Mountains range Near to Babozai Village [note 5] (Hayat Ullah / Hayatullah Durrani Khan 2003.05.18, item n°6, literally quoted). SITUATION 2006: In the Aghbaragh Mountains some 25 kms to the west of Quetta.
