Description
»A corrosion-erosion cave … formed along a sloping tectonic fracture in a single 20 m thick vein of amphibole- biotite- pyroxenic gneiss intersected by up to 0.5 m thick pegmatitoide inclusions. It contains quartz, plagioclase, potassium feldspar, pyroxene, amphibole, tremolite, biotite, muscovite and ore mineral (probably pyrite, intermixed in iron hydroxides. … the lower wall (along which the water flowed) of the fracture is karstified, as calcite from the bedrock dissolved and other minerals erode physically. … the higher wall of the cave has no tracks of dissolution, but has covered with 1 cm thick crusts of cave flowers of secondary calcite and cryptocrystalline gypsum. They were covered with lichens at the entrance parts of the cave …« (SHOPOV 1989a: 15). SITUATION: East of the –>Docriani Bamak Fracture Cave and at the foot of Jaonli peak N30°52': E78°51': 6632 m asl (SHOPOV 1989a: 15) equalling 21'760 ft. (AMS sheet NH44-05 Dehra Dun, U502 series, 1959 edition).
