A rock art site sheltered by overhanging rock faces (trap ?).SITUATION: About 41 miles (KREUZER, G 1976: 19) or almost 50 km (India Road Atlas, Eicher Goodearth 2006: 37 F3) from Gwalior (N26°13'25”: E078°10'45” WGS84) along the Central Railway or the National Highway NH3 (note 1) lies the town of Mohona (KREUZER, G 1976) or Mohana (note 2). About a mile (KREUZER, G 1976) further on (south) lies on the right (KREUZER, G 1976) or, more likely, west of the road the village of Tikla (KREUZER, G 1976) or Tikola (AMS sheet NG43-12 Shivpuri, U502 series, 1962 edition). In an unidentified spatial relation behind the village (KREUZER, G 1976) rises a flat-topped hill of which one corner is marked by a white-washed Kali temple erected on a big rock (KREUZER, G 1976). CULTURAL HISTORY - rock art (paintings): Kreuzer's big rock carries the most beautiful paintings including one referred to as the leader and two honourables but others, much weathered, are below oerhangs on the western and suthern flanks of the hill (KREUZER, G 1976).uthern flanks of the hill (KREUZER, G 1976).
