Description
A »sepulchral cave« (SHARMA, V D 1961 edited 1985) consisting of a man-made, rock-cut pit without name of its own (note 1), has been excavated from laterite and used in »meghalithic time« (SHARMA 1961 edited 1985: 101-111) as a burial chamber at an unspecified location somewhere at »Calicut« (Kozhikode N11°15': E75°46' India Road Atlas, Eicher Goodearth 2006: 114 D3).
NOTE 1: LONGHURST (1915: 159f, plate LXXII) is said to describe this item while GOSH (1989, 2: 'Calicut') refers to the IAR (1965, 12: 101-111) but I have checked neither of them.
