Description
An abandoned, man-made stepwell with brackish water, which was indicated as a cave by local informants, shows some traces of karstification on the exposed parts of the walls. SITUATION: Near the south-coast of Diu Island and about 300 m short of (arriving from east) Sunset Point, the beach scarred by an assemblage of inhabitable containers, which some consider a »holiday camp« (note 1). CAVE LIFE: In December 1998, a dozing owl rested on fist-sized stone wedged in a vertical fissure.
NOTE 1: A smart entrepreneur bypassed the law which does not allow to build hotels on the shore.
