Description
An unspecified »cave« (note 1) of the dimension »30-25« (feet?) and »vacant« reported the Chakrata Tahsildar (1941.02.05 Mss) from one village of »Buchkoti« (note 2) in a certain »Kailao khat« (gad, ghat, khad, khat = stream), 13 km on foot in an unspecified direction from Chakrata (30°42'N: 77°51'E).
NOTE 1: Little doubt remains that all of the nine "caves" (Banayana, Bayala, Bhuchkoti, Lakha Mandal, Madak, Monuk, Rajanu Khera, Shaknai Khera, Thudarhi Khera), which the Tahsildar of Chakrata (1941.02.05 Mss) had recorded, represent rock shelters. NOTE 2: The village of »Buchkoti« is not identified.
