Description
Unspecified »good caves« (PRANAVANANDA 1949: 156) or rock shelters at the camping ground Shakpadunga (note 1) possibly are --but this is mere guesswork-- identical with the cave of Father –>Andrade. SITUATION: At a walking distance of 15.3 km north of Badrinath (N30°44': E079°29') or 5.6 km upstream the Saraswati (Sarasvati) River from –>Balvan Cave or 0.8 km below the caves of –>Bujkuli (N29°51': E079°29'30”) on the approach (30.5 km) to Mana Pass (Mana La N31°05': E079°25': 5608 m asl).
NOTE 1: »Shakpadunga« (PRANAVANANDA 1949: 156) or Shakpa Rock appears to correspond to the Chhupchhapa (camping ground) indicated near N30°49': E079°20'30” on AMS sheet NH44-05 Dehra Dun (U502 series, 1959 edition).
