»Cave Dwelling« (no name mentioned) near »Falls 15 m« (no name mentioned) is indicated on the Survey of India sheet 54-P/10 (edition 1977) in the Dilari Reserved Forest on Jarkhohda Toh Pahar (507 m), a hill that lies about a kilometer in a direct line east of Dilari village, which itself lies about 1 km south-west of the –>Jatashankar, a sacred spring and temple 15 km along the road south-east of Bijawar town (note 1), the headquarters of the erstwhile Bijawar State (note 2).
NOTE 1: Bijawar, the town, is indicated near N24°37'30”: E079°19'50” (Everest 1830, Survey of India sheet 54-P/10, edition 1977) but rather misplaced at 24°38'N: 79°30'E (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003). NOTE 2: Bijawar State.– The chief crops are kodon (45 square miles or 19 per cent of the cropped area), kutki (27 square miles, 12%), barley (24 square miles, 10%), urd and rice (12 square miles each), and wheat (9 square miles). »The forests, which occupy 429 square miles [1'111 square kilometers], are now being in part 'reserved'. The most important trees are the mahua (Bassia latifolia), which supplies the staple food of the poor, especially in bad seasons, the tendu (Diospyros tomentosa), and the seja (Lagerstroemia parviflora). A stunted form of teak also abounds« (IMPERIAL GAZETTEER 1907-1909, VIII: 190).
