LASHIMARG SINK

Description
There is a draughting »open« (penetrable) sinkhole (insurgence) among the less large dolines on the left-hand side of the wide plain beyond Lashimarg (note 1), a hamlet at about 3500 m (11,500 ft) asl and somewhere on the Sonamarg- Wangat trek. It is suspected to give access (not pushed to a conclusion) to a pothole cave (note 3). Lashimarg must lie a short distance above Wangat (note 2) but is also accessible in a »through the breast and down across the back straight into the head« kind of way along the Sonamarg - Wangat trek (note 4).
NOTE 1: Lashimarg is NOT shown near (±5 km) N34°20': E074°57' (guessed Everest 1830 coordinates) on AMS sheet NI43-06 (U502 series, 1959 edition) or in the India Road Atlas (Eicher Goodearth 2006: 2 B3 B4).
