Myagdi Shelter

An approximately 6 m wide but only 1.2 m high rock shelter with an inviting dark extension on the left hand side, which, when approaching, prooves to be almost a whole metre long. The rock shelter is formed in the conglomerate of a river terrace and shows remnants of a former calcite floor. Stumps of broken stalactites (speleothems) are detectable. SITUATION: At the southern end of Myagdi town, about halfway between Beni (N28°20'30”: E083°38'18”) and Baglung but on the orographically left (eastern) bank of Kali Gandaki river, between the confluence of the Lungdi or Luddi Khola (note 1) and the Lasti Khola (note 2), and in the back of what had been in spring 1990 a school house.An approximately 6 m wide but only 1.2 m high rock shelter with an inviting dark extension on the left hand side, which, when approaching, prooves to be almost a whole metre long.
