To get there, park at NCAR just west of Boulder. Follow the well-marked trail to the west, and follow the signs to the cave. The hike is approximately 1.5 miles each way and gains 900 feet in elevation. A hard-rock scramble leads up to the entrance. Mallory Cave is a small sandstone shelter cave consisting of one undecorated room. Closed from June through October because of the nesting bats inside.
