Description
A vaulted, approximtely 5 m wide and up to 3 m high, daylight-lit rock shelter modified by man with a levelled floor and a raised platform for accomodating a star performer, lies about 100 or 200 m short of the Shiva Cave (Salbardi Mahadeo Gumpha) on the left-hand side of the ascending trail (Abele 2007.02.20 Mss -Schiwahöhle bei Salbardi- dated 20.2. Die). CULTURAL HISTORY - Human use: On occasion of religious buisness promotion events (Hindi: mela; English: kermis), the ideally located shop on the final bit of the pilgrims' trail is occupied by a saddhu in the function of a professional road-side hermit performing professional -lazy-bones- activities.

EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2007.02.20: Andre Abele (2007.02.20 Mss 'Schiwahöhle bei Salbardi' dated 20.2. Die) passed by on his way to –>Salbardi Mahadeo Gumpha, got invited by the performing saddhu, visited, enjoyed morsels fitting Shivaratri day, and took digital photographs.
