Ratomato Quarry Cave

A small cave with an entrance 2,5 m broad and 1,5 m high facing south-west. Situated in frequently bedded limestone at a location north of the quarries at Ratomato village (and in a direction of 309° from Swayambhunath) at a relative height of about 30 m above the valley floor or 10 m above the road at the bottom of Ratomato hill. The solitary 7 m long chamber trends 210° to 010° and ends in a tiny hole with no air current. A few more openings near the northern end of the quarry were seen in spring 1990, all of them smaller than five metres in any direction. Cleavages in any direction were abundant, possibly due to the use of explosives.
