Fauna
Systaria lannops Jõger, 2018 (Arthropoda, Arachnida, Araneae, Clubionidae) (Jõger 2018) Althepus changmao Li et Li, 2018 (Arthropoda, Arachnida, Araneae, Ochyroceratidae) û type locality (Li et al. 2018) Hipposideros armiger (Hodgson, 1835) (Chordata, Mammalia, Chiroptera, Hipposideridae) (Chintapitasakul et al. 2012) Hipposideros larvatus (Horsfield, 1823) (Chordata, Mammalia, Chiroptera, Hipposideridae) (Chintapitasakul et al. 2012)
The entrance is 10 m high by 4 m wide and gives access after a short climb up using a metal ladder to a black Buddha behind which the passage continues. Before the Buddha a passage on the left gives access to a gallery that ends in the cliff. On the right the gallery continues, narrowing, then regaining its large size. It shows traces of a palaeo flow and various levels of clastic fill. One can also observe eroded conglomerates. The floor is littered with guano and populated with big cockroaches. The gallery continues to intersect perpendicularly a smaller gallery. A bit before the bottom a small drop of 2 m is equipped with a metal ladder. The cave ends in a chamber where the clastic deposits may be an old choked sump. Large bats (60 cm) are present. Tham Pha Daeng was surveyed by the SSAPO in July 2008. It may be the same cave as Tham Pha Daeng (CM0048), in particular with regard to the bat records, but the two surveys are very dissimilar.
