A rock-cut cave (man-made rock chamber) reported LOGAN (1887-1891 edited 2000, 2: ccclii) from a place called Palangat (note 1) in connection --or no connection-- with a place called Kanniparamba (note 2): At a travelling distance of 11 miles [17.7 km in a direct line] east of Calicut in the hamlet of Kalpalli [note 3] there is a toppikal [also: topikkal] or hat-stone.
