Location
The stream flowing past Ban Ton Maprow sinks into its bed approximately 1 km from where it rises. In April 1996 there was only one active sink, but there are several other intermittent stream sinks nearby. All are located in an area of forest bordering the cleared fields (or plantation) associated with the nearby village.
Description
Two of the sinks have obvious cave entrances and bedrock walls, but are choked with flood debris. The sink is about 400m from the end of the Left Hand Branch of Tham Nam Tok and would appear to be its major source of water.
