Description
»Rock shelters« containing rock art (paintings) and yielding microliths reported M. Gosh and D.H. Gordon (Indian Archaeology: A Review [IAR] 1955-1956: 69) from Kabra Pahar (note 1) in »Raigarh district« (note 2).
NOTE 1: »Kabra Pahar« (GOSH 1989) is not identified unless — but this is not likely — it stands for the village of Karpabahal N21°45': E083°52' (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003). NOTE 2: »Raigarh district« (GOSH 1989) is probably the district of Raigarh N21°54': E083°24' marked »Raigarh« on the India Road Atlas (Eicher Goodearth 2006: 74 D3) in Chhattisgarh (Raigarh district). Not to be confused with the Raigarh N18°15': E073°26' marked »Raigarh 862« on the India Road Atlas (Eicher Goodearth 2006: 90 B3) in Maharashtra (Rayagad district) and positioned as Raigad Fort and Raigarh Fort at N18°15': E073°26' (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003) on AMS sheet NE43-05.
