Location

»Thermal springs« can be seen »near Geylegphug [note 1] where they emerge on the Main Frontal Thrust (MFT)« (YONGE, Y 1993). NOTE 1: Neither Geyleg Phug nor Geylegphug Dzong (India Road Atlas, Eicher Goodearth 2006: 28 A5) is indicated on AMS sheet NG45-05 Barpeta (U502 series, edition 1963) but »Hot« is shown next to the symbol for a source of water near (±2.5 km) N26°56'30”: E089°32' and about 10 km in a direct line north of the Bhutan - Assam border. YONGE (1993: 17 map) shows some 10 km to 12 km north of »Geylegphug« (on the Bhutan - Assam border) a north-west to south-east trending series of three distinct + + + (thermal springs) adjacent south-west to a likewise north-west to south-east trending, almost 25 km long and less than 5 km wide gypsum outcrop.
