Description
A square cave entrance opens directly to a 5 metre deep pot, at the base of which a relatively small cave passage leads uphill and turns into an unidentified direction to the right (sic!) and descends. At the base of the descent a 180° turn is followed by a constriction after which the cave passage gradually enlarges before rising to the second cave entrance (Brooks, S J 1997 Mss: Pakistan Cave Database). SITUATION: To reach the site from Quetta, travel roughly estimated 5 km north-east from Kuchlagh / Kuchlak (note 1) along the road via Ziarat (note 2) to Qila Saifullah (note 3), and up to a spot from where a track south-east leads to the Dara Manda or -Bostan Dhara- (note 4). Pass through the gorge and into the open valley beyond. At the point where the valley divides, ascend the obvious ridge that lies to the east-north-east (note 5) via a faint, steeply ascending path that begins adjacent to a wall of a gently sloping well-bedded limestone. The caves are surprisingly located on th very top of the ridge before it abutts against the main mountain (Brooks, S J 1997 Mss: Pakistan Cave Database).A square cave entrance opens directly to a 5 metre deep pot, at the base of which a relatively small cave passage leads uphill and turns into an unidentified direction to the right (sic!) and descends.
