Description
An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) is said to give access to a 15 m deep vertical cave entrance (pothole) above the boulder-choked resurgence of the Synrang –>Pamiang. ETYMOLOGY: No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified for this cave entrance when a passing outsider, who had been aware of »no known local name« (Jarratt 2001.11.12 Mss), desired to compose a certain »Valley Head Cave [note 1] named by the explorers« but thought the bottom is the head and ended up with an unwished-for »Cave [of a] Native [from the] Outside [of the] Village« (note 2) or "Krem Khlieh Trai Lum" (Jarratt 2001.11.12 Mss). SITUATION: »Below a c.15 m cliff where a waterfall drops into a c.15 m deep, undescended pothole (probably choked) is the adjacent vertical rift entrance giving a c.15 m difficult free-climb down into the large Trainspotter's Chamber of Synrang Pamiang. This entrance -or rather exit - is located c.100 m north of the boulder choked resurgence of the system and lies just south of the path from Lumshnong to Um Long [note 3]. There is no easy access to the main cave as Trainspotter's Chamber is entered via a 20 m free hanging pitch from the river cave above« (Jarratt 2001.11.12 Mss).
