A fantastic underground stronghold with fabulous tunnels connecting to China, Pakistan and Tajikistan is advertised by a willing journalist in the pay of the National Post (SCHULER 2001) to serve Osama bin Laden as a nanny tale style tahkhana and refuge: The latest report, from Pakistani newspapers, is that the terrorist mastermind is tucked away inside -the ultimate citadel- -- a fortified cave deep inside the Pamir mountains of northern Afghanistan. Russian intelligence officials say the bunker has tunnels that exit to three different countries -- China, Pakistan and Tajikistan.
