Description
NOTE 1: The tiger- or lion-headed Narasimha (also: Narasingha, Narsimha, Narsingha) is suspected to engender an »aboriginal god … worshipped in the caves and mountains of Orissa and Andhra« (JAIN 2004: 10).
There is man-made "cave temple" (rock-cut chamber used for religious purposes) dedicated to Narasimha (note 1) situated somewhere at Bidar (WARD, P 1991 edited 1992: 235).
