An unspecified -cave- (no name mentione) of dubious nature and dimensions, is situated somewhere near Manikaran (N32°02': E077°21'), 40 km along the road east-north-east from Kulu, and was used as a troglodyte home by an unidentified foreign women in disturbed state of mind who had no document, money and friends: Shimla, December 23 -- A western woman, living in a cave near Kulu in a “disturbed state of mind” was sent to a destitute home after eight months of efforts to establish her nationality proved futile, a senior police official said today. “There was no alternative other than sending her to destitute home. She had no document, no money and no friends. All efforts to establish her identity failed,” Kulu district police chief A. P. Singh said. He said the woman, who appears to be in her 50s, was spotted in a cave at Manikaran, 40 km from Kulu, in April last. She appeared to be in a “disturbed state of mind”. She was living at the mercy of others who offered food and clothes t her. Mr A. P. Singh said he tried to talk to her but she suddenly turned aggressive and even tried to hit him. “Her behaviour is unpredictable and it is difficult to converse with her,” he said.
