A relatively small fissure (PEET 1946: 94) without identified dimensions is possibly identical with one of the –>St. Martin's Potholes (whirlpools). ETYMOLOGY PEET (1946: 94) translates -Hunu Gala- as White Crystal Rock. SITUATION: Under a crystalline limestone escarpment and at the side of a small waterfall at Hunu Gala (note 1) or White Crystal Rock in the vicinity of St. Martin's Tea Estate (note 2). CAVE DESCRIPTION: I cannot reconcile it with a water worn cavity as in limestone one might reasonably expect to see the stream issuing from the fissure being presumably the lower water level; and not over the edge of an escarpment 20 feet higher.
