DHABADIH SINKHOLE

Description
A sinkhole of unidentified dimensions, which may give access to a cave, is formed in Precambrian (Proterozoic) Upper Chattisgarh Chadni (Newari) Limestone. Compare also –>Kesdabri Sinkholes and –>Parsadih Sinkhole. According to MURTI (1996: 13), the »… development of karst topography is noticed SE [south-east] of Dhabadih with characteistic lapies, sinkholes and blind nalas.« On this occasion, MURTI (1996: 13) refers to »(Plate -3A)« but MURTI (1996: 120, plate 3a), unfortunately, is a useless photograph without scale, which is titled »Sinkhole in Newari Limestone, Dhabadih« and shows a blurred image reminsicent of two neighbouring holes of unknowable dimensions (perhaps tiny, possibly huge), separated by a wall (or is it a pillar?) and apparently opening in limestone and embraced by what looks like grass blades or shrub twigs.
