Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

A relatively small (1 m wide, 0.5 m high) but otherwise unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified orientation, unidentified peculiar characteristics) is said to give access to an allegedly 63.4 m long cave (vertical range 12.6) which was said to have been -surveyed- of sorts, actually, however, was not even mapped. The caving experts from the Wensleydale Caving Club complete the picture with reporting a lack of recorded cave characteristics or peculiarities and unidentified cave contents, combined with all kinds of ignored cultural relevance, and fully lacking observationes of cave fauna and flora. Another three caves (K4, K5 and K6) that were similar but from for gentlemen with a taste for long ones less significant (note 1), were noticed without identified spatial relations somewhere nearby. SITUATION 2000: In an unknown spatial relation to to the sort of near Krem –>Amlariang and in a 30 m (wide or high) cliff adjacent to the road from Nongtalang to Jowai, and cloe to a settlement (without recognized name) that lies, according to GPS-readings of dubious reliability (note 2), at a linear distance of about 2 km without identified direction from the Inspection Bungalow of Nongtalang (after anynymous Boyes, P W 2000.02.18 Mss -K3, K4, K5 and K6)- dated 18/2/00 revised 21|4|00; Boyes, P W 2000.07.21 Mss personal correspondence; Lizzie [Elizabeth] Elvidge 2000.02.18 Mss -K3, K4 ,K5 and K6- dated 18/2/00)- dated 18/2/00; BOYES, P W 2000 s.a.: 4, 8). WILKINSON, P (undated, circa 2000 -Sketch map showing the caves of Nongtalang-, square coordinate grid without geodetic datum, no scale, undefined magnetic? or geographic? north arrow, apparently compiled from GPS readings) indicates the letter K (Unicode 004 B) close to the south side of the road from Jowai to Dauki, about 1 km in a direct line northwest of Nongtalang, and some 0.7 km NNE from the Nongtalang Inspection Bungalow (25°12'24.7”N: 92°03'49.4”E WGS84). CAVE DESCRIPTION: Lizzie [Elizabeth] lvidge (2000.02.18 Mss: K3, K4 ,K5 and K6) draws the attention of gentlemen with a taste for long ones to a group of small entrances (0.5 x 1 m), K3 being the most significant An anonymous Boyes, P W (2000.02.18 Mss: K3, K4 ,K5 and K6 dated 18/2/00 revised 21|4|00) confirms the existence of small entrances (0.5 x 1 m), K3 being the most significant and formed in limestone.lvidge (2000.02.18 Mss: K3, K4 ,K5 and K6) draws the attention of gentlemen with a taste for long ones to a group of small entrances (0.5 x 1 m), K3 being the most significant An anonymous Boyes, P W (2000.02.18 Mss: K3, K4 ,K5 and K6 dated 18/2/00 revised 21|4|00) confirms the existence of small entrances (0.5 x 1 m), K3 being the most significant and formed in limestone.
