DEMWE SOLUTION CAVITIES

Engineering geologists detected unspecified solution cavities at depths between 27.87 m and 32.44 m (vertical range ±4.6 m) in a hard compact crystalline limestone (NAGESWARAN & NATARAJAN 1991). SITUATION: In Lohit district and at an unspecified distance of 65 km (probably rather along a road than in a direct line) more or less northeast of Tezu (note 1) and on the left bank of Lohit River (also: Luhit, Lu-hei-t'e Ho) above the confluence of the river Tidding or Tiding (note 2), at the site of a hydro-electric Project called after the mountain Demwe (note 3).
