An unspecified item, either a man-made cave temple (rock-cut chamber used for religious purposes) or natural sacred cave (temple cave), which is not only associated with Sita but also contains a lingam and a sculpture of Shiva as Gaurishankar. SITUATION: On the top of one Sandhail hill at Umga, which rises about 5 km west of Umga, a village 7.5 km west of Madanpur (note 1).CULTURAL HISTORY -- rock art: In one of caves, called Sita Thapa, there are still located some old sculptures with a few words of insignificant inscriptions here and there. The chief -Lingam of Shiva- is named Sandheshwara Natha (DAYAL, P 1906: 25).
