Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

An about 4 m by 1 m wide cave entrance gives access to the unexplored entrance area of an estimated 25 m deep shaft where stones thrown down made a noise as if hitting a muddy part of ground. Rhys J. Williams was able to interpret the sound as indicating a mud floor. ETYMOLOGY: No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified for a vertical cave which expedition cavers of the Clouding in the Abode of Caves Project rapidly achieved to call by the name of one of the relatively nearby villages (note 1), namely Silkein Williams, R J (2007.02.22 Mss line 4) Silken Williams, R J (2007.02.22 Mss line 1) Sikein Williams, R J (2007.02.22 Mss line 2). SITUATION: Unknown. The cave entrance was understood to lie at a mind and space boggling location just off path from Sikein [sic!] village and Pilklein Pouk [sic!] resurgence [note 2]. On a direct line between Silkein [sic!] Pouk and resurgence. Heading downhill circa 20 m off path (note 3) and in a disorientated direction whch once had been for a moment on one or the other the left hand side of Rhys J. Williams (2007.02.22 Mss).ch once had been for a moment on one or the other the left hand side of Rhys J. Williams (2007.02.22 Mss).
