Description
Brief description
The road from Jammu (note 1) north-east to Udhampur (note 2) passes through what De TERRA (1940: 165) described as the ice-cold Nandni Tunnel (note 3) in the meat-coloured Siwalik foothills leading into the midday heat of the plains (note 4). CAVE LIFE: It might be enriching to check what kind of cave life survives or even thrives on a daily 24 hour input of exhaust fumes, powdered tyre rubber and gasoline / diesel spillage deriving from a perennial flow of civil and military vehicles: Grimobacter lorrii tataoïdes?
