Im gleichen Felskegel liegen weitere Höhlen, die z. T. als Bank und Handelsposten dienten. Die Tham Patok wird im Laos-Buch des Stefan-Lose-Verlags beschrieben. On the first map in the pdf file you see the map you are revering to. Tham Pathok is situated Y: 102 degrees .53 / and somewhere between X: 75.75 and 76 degrees just a little below the 76 degrees line in the corner of the road in the opposite of the large limestone karst crop south east of the village of Nong Khiaw. In 1999 we stored 150 metres of cave rope in the cave, which was disappeared in 2000 :-( Well meine herren feel free to translate that into GPS coordinates.... [4744]: A 40-minute-walk [from Nong Khiaw] will take you to Tham Pha Thok, a limestone cave where villagers lived during the Indochina War, and to a nearby waterfall. To find the cave, walk 2,5 km east of the bridge along Rte 1, then look for a clearly visible cave mouth in a lmestone cliff to your right, about 100m from the road. [6415]: The cave is a tourist site and a display at the roadside points to the cave entrance, which is visible from the road. A visit to the cave does not need any formal permit. An entry fee will be collected from visitors. Wooden stairs made in 2001 lead to the main entrance, which is fenced. One can ascend to the 12 m wide and 15 m high main gallery, passing a larger chamber with fenced daylit holes to the left and some historical features from wartime like a table, benches as well as a bullet shelter. A subsequent 10 m deep drop can be negotiated by using very unsafe broken bamboo ladders. This descent gives access to the terminal chamber of Tham Pathok, which has a daylight hole as well as a steeply ascending rift passage where the remains of a rotten bamboo ladder from 1964 were still visible during the survey in 2008. Tham Pathok has a few calcite formations in places. >> survey [5513]: shown in map [8525]: only fauna records [8702]: only fauna records from outside the cave [8880]: only fauna records from outside the cave [9597]: Fauna records: LAOS: Luang Prabang Prov.: NE Luang Prabang, Nam Ou, Nong Khiao, Tham Pathok: ♂ holotype above; same data, 3♂4♀ in SMF; same locality, inside cave, at night, by hand, 10./11.iii.2006 (P.
