Brief description
A few metres behind the ticket counter lies the gated, lower, south-west facing cave entrance (about two to three metres wide and high) to the lowest of the Edakkal Caves. Endowed with a roof, murky parts and a trickle of water, is it the most -cavish- one. Sort of letter -L--shaped in ground plan, altogether some 15 meters long, up to 7 meters wide and high (estimated), ascend the passage across a confusion of fallen rocks and boulders to the man-sized upper cave entrance which is gained by iron steps.
