Ten »rock shelters« (or caves) have been associated with a place called Chorpura (note 1) in Shivpuri district (Indian Archaeology: A Review [IAR] 1957 - 1958: 79). ETYMOLOGY: "Chor" can be interpreted to derive either from »cow« (cattle) from »robber«.
