Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 06/01/2018

An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) is said to have given access to an estimated 10 m long, choked small passage in razor rock (Jarratt 1998.02.23 Mss -Cave Log- 23/2/98). ETYMOLOGY: No autochthonous, indigenous or locally known name has been identified (if it exists) for what passing outsiders christened Krem Banep (Jarratt 1998.02.23 Mss -Cave Log- 23/2/98) instead of -Krem Ba Nep-, Sharp Cave (note 1) or -Krem Nep- (Krem-nep; Kremnep), which would refer either to a Cave [that] Sharpens or to a Cave [that is] Sharp (note 2). SITUATION: Unknown -- on the one-hand side in an unidentified setting and at an unspecified location (without GPS position) but on the other hand somewhere in the vicinity of Krem Umshor (Jarratt 1998.02.23 Mss -Cave Log- 23/2/98) or, to be precise, in an unspecified spatial relation to the cave entrance of Krem –>Umshor (±100 m) N25°10'37”: E092°22'18”: circa (±30m): 638 m asl (WGS84).m): 638 m asl (WGS84).

Histoire

EXPLORATION HISTORY: 1998.02.23: Anthony 'Tony' R Jarratt and Brian Johnson had attempted to survey from the duck upstream but a bubble in the compass thwarted their initial impulse whereupon they opted for heading out to check various potential cave sites in the vicinity (Jarratt 1998.02.23 Mss 'Cave Log' 23/2/98) and never came back to it.
