Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 01/05/2016

A cave of dubious nature and origin (man-made or natural), endowed with a fabulous tunnel (note 1), is reported (note 2) from the neighbourhood of Peddapuram (note 3) where »a hill called Pándavulametta ('the Pándavas' hill), contains a cave which is supposed to be the mouth of an underground passage leading to Rajamundry [note 4]. It is popularly supposed that the Pándavas used to haunt this hillock and go to Rajamundry through this passage.«
