Description
Due to their proximitity to each other, Iswal Cave 3 and Iswal Cave 4 might be regarded as one. SITUATION 1 (DUBOIS 1996: 10): About 2 km approximately south of »Grotte d'Iswal 5« and 500 m north of the prominent old tree near –>Iswal Pot and »Grotte d'Iswal 2.« SITUATION 2 (DUBOIS 1996: 12, text): At the coordinates 778,400 / 2708,100 (without map datum, unspecified source). SITUATION 3 (DUBOIS 1996: 12, cave plan): »Grotte N°3« lies about 15 or 25 m south-west of »Grotte N°4«. CAVE DESCRIPTION: On the western flank of a south-east facing cave entrance (25 m wide, 8 m high) descends a 5 m wide ramp to a partly daylight-lit chamber (up to 15 m wide, 8 m high and 25 m long) with walls sealed by ochre or black coloured deposits of limonite, either finely laminated or concentric, or otherwise stratified with leached (?) voidal separations in the centimetres-range, which indicates a depositional environment of slow sedimentation.
