An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified characteristics) is said to rather prevent than give access to a generally inaccessible cave roost in the sense of a bat roost (PHUYAL & DHOUBADEL 2006: 35 table, item 5). ETYMOLOGY: The origin and meaning of the cave name Buddha Cave has not yet been discovered. SITUATION 2006: By the Seti River in Shanti Ban [note 1] area (PHUYAL & DHOUBADEL 2006: 35 table, item 5). SITUATION 2008: The GPS position for the Buddha Cave, Pokhara 19, Latitude 28°10'45”, Longitude 84°0'52” [unidentified geodetic datum, unspecified precision error] (ADHIKARI, Hari 2008: 45 table, item 5 after Sujas 2005 instead PHUYAL, Sujas Prasad 2005) indicates a spot about 11 km in a direct line approximately ESE (-4.6 km north, 10.1 km east) from Pokhara Mahendrapul (N28°13'15”: E083°59'30”: 888 m asl). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2005: Not seen (PHUYAL, Sujas Prasad 2005). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2006: Smallest cve recorded in this study. Can be visited in winter season with some difficulty. Previously unexplored.
