[…] Follow the disused forest path uphill from [see –>] Slit Pot for about half a mile [800 m], until the path crosses the floor of the main valley, about half a mile [800 m] & 500 ft. [150 m] below the main Chakrata mule path. The upper pot has a six foot [1.8 m] entrance about 20 ft. [6 m] above the path just as it leaves the valley floor on the west side« (Glennie 1946.08.01 Mss: Bodhyar area potholes, page 1). »An alternative route to Chowkidar Pots: Take track to Chakrata from Bodhyar F.R.H. [Budher Forest Rest House] until just before it crosses over the Main Ridge to the North side about 1 Mile [1.6 km] distance. There is a forest path going half back down hill on the right from this saddle & Chowkidar Pots are 150 ft. [50 m] down where the path crosses the valley floor« (Glennie 1946.08.01 Mss: Bodhyar area potholes, page 6). SITUATION 1951: »Further up the valley floor [from the Budher hut] about a quarter of a mile [400 m] below the main path east of the [Budher Forest] rest house« (LEAKEY 1955: 58).
