LABIT, Mulesngi, 1st (Krem)

The first Krem Labit near the village of Moolesngi (N25°22'02”: E92°32'22”) was understood to represent not only a surface pot (McNally 2006.02.26 Mss: Krem Labbit 1 Moolesngi) or a surface pothole (Brooks 2006 undated Mss amendments to McNally 2006.02.26 Mss) but also a pothole (Arbenz, T 2006.05.21 Mss: Abstracts.xls). ETYMOLOGY: The Synteng place name Mulesngi (N25°22'10: E92°32'20-) is possibly also called (in Khasi) Mawlasngi or Muliehsngi (sun of the -white stone- = limestone). B.D. Kharpran Daly (2002.02 personal communication) was told the Synteng -moo la sngi- translates as stone three sun and means triple sun's [standing] stone/s (note 1). SITUATION 1: McNally (2006.02.26 Mss) attempts to make believe this Krem Labbit 1 (Moolesngi) could be reached by following error-stricken directions (note 2) commanding, literally quoted, to: Start at standing stones on ridge [Shnongrim Ridge] at N. 25-22-07.5 E 92-32-39.4 [note 3] head down towards cave at GPS above [note 4]. STUATION 2: Brooks (circa 2006.10.31 undated Mss: Amendments to McNally 2006.02.26 Mss): Moolesngi area. SITUATION 3: According to the recorded GPS position N25°21'54.8”: E92°32'36.3” (±9 m WGS84), the first Krem Labit (Mulesngi) lies at linear distances of about 790 m approximately south-west (SW) of the village of Lumthari (N25°22'12”: E92°32'57”: 1000 m asl) and about 460 m approximately east-southeast (ESE) from the village of Moolesngi (N25°22'02”: E92°32'22”) or 44.3 m in a direct line approximately north-northwest (NNW) from the second Krem –>Labit near Moolesngi. CAVE DESCRIPTION 1: McNally (2006.02.26 Mss) noticed a presumably c.20 m deep surface pot without identified shape, dimensions or peculiar characteristics, where all of what there is stone heard falling further.
