Location
From Muang Ngoy follow the road towards Ban Nambak (Ban Bom). Right before Ban Nambak (Ban Bom) one must turn right to the village of Ban Nagnang (”Swedish Road”). Where the road slightly turns to the left a solitary limestone hill to the right contains the cave. The entrance to Tham Pha Pit is situated on the right side of the hill and can be reached by a footpath [5158] Map sheet: F48-121 Methode: GPS

History:The cave has been known by the locals for a long time [5158] Explo history: -- 25 & 29.10.2000 explored and surveyed to 232 m by AMIS Laos Expedition 2000 (NL) [5158] Cave description: Citation: Analysis: [5158]: The main entrance is large and opens into a spacious chamber with leads in several directions. On the far end of the chamber and to the left side one can reach side chambers with no further continuation. The chamber to the left has a skylight in its roof. Close to the entrance two crawls lead to dead ends. Two good-sized passages continue from the entrance chamber to the NE. The smaller one continues on a lower level and soon ends. The upper passage leads to chambers on a higher level. However, UXO Laos (the regional explosives clearance project) has removed explosives from the cave and caution is recommended.
