A vast cavern in the hill adjacent to the village of Dyteahpoor (note 1) once was identified as the Cavern of –>Prometheus: Seventeen koss [ca. 55 km travelling distance] north-west from Birikot [note 2] is Dyteahpoor now called Dyt Kulli, built by the Dyte or Titan, St'hool, near it in the hill is a vast cavern, doubtless that mentioned by Arrian and Strabo as the Cavern of Prometheus the Titan (ABBOTT, J 1854: 361). CAVE DESCRIPTION 1893: At the distance of thirty-four miles [55 km] from Birikot, a place near the river Swat, is Daityapur, now called Daiti Kalli, said to have been built by one of the Daityas, i.e. enemies of the gods, such as were the Titans of the Greeks.
