Description
Not a cave at all but two abandoned quarries (each approximately 30 m by 50 m wide and about 7 m deep) near Naida village, pointed out as a "cave" on various occasions (December 1998) by local informants. DESCRIPTION 2005: »Outside the city wall are the Naida Caves (Map p665), an intriguing,overgrown network of square-hewn hollows and steps leading off into nowhere. This is where the Portuguese hacked out their building materials« (LONELY PLANET, India (2005: 664).
