Description
A rock shelter or true cave with rock art (paintings in red pigment) is situated (COCKBURN 1883b: 125) somewhere in the gorge of the Gudheye nadi (note 1) at the village of China / Chuna / Chunar (note 2) "near" (about 20 km in a direct line north-west) Ahraura (note 3). CULTURAL HISTORY - rock art: »Another drawing represents a tiger drive … found at China Durra and is evidently a mediaeval picture, for barbed iron arrows of a form impossible in wood or stone, swords, shields and spears are conspicuous. On the other hand no firearms are visible. This picture is probably 500 years old« (DRAKE BROCKMANN 1911 District Gazetteer Mirzapul, p. 199).
