URLE 5 (Krem)

An allegedly 58.61 m deep pothole and cave called Krem Urle 5 pleased tape spotters -- till they abuttet against a sand choke -- with yielding 230 m of which some aspects of the entire first 15 m where identified and effectively described with three lines of words with special reference to personal phobia in the face of cave fauna. SITUATION: A few hundred metres below the west side of the road between Khaidong and Shnongrim (Brooks 2005.02.08 Mss: Meghalaya 2005 Diary). APPROACH: Follow a track downhil from Urle 1 for about 200 m in any direction you are inclined to choose. Then stop and whirl around your own axis for a minute or two before you decide to take the left slope. There is a small (40 m dia.) doline, recently cleared [Anthony 'Tony' R Jarratt: Feb 2005], with piles of wood and dead banana trees [if these flourish, wait], and about eight proper ones. The cave is obvious at the bottom [but unfortunately not near it's top] (modified after Quentin Cooper [Cowper] 2005.02 15 Mss: Krem Urle 5). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2005.1: Entrance is a scramble down boulders … to about -15 m depth where a chamber and head of a pitch are met. There is a large echo here, bats etc. (Cowper -Cooper- 2005.02. 15 Mss: Krem Urle 5). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2005.2: A choked 15 m deep pothole (Arbenz, T 2005.02 Mss: Abstracts.xls). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2005.3: Quentin's Krem Urley 5 is finished (Jarratt 2005.03.06 Mss -Cave Log- vol. XII, 18/2/05). CAVE LIFE: Quentin -Cooper- Cowper (2005.02. 15 Mss: Krem Urle 5) noticed in the bouldery entrance area balls of spiders [sic! probabile qua: harvestmen, Arachnida: Opiliones / Phalangidae] dropping everywhere and somewhere else, probably inside the cave proper, unspecified bats (Chiroptera).
