Description
A small hole, 1 x 2 m (Ludwig 2004.02.19 Mss: Don't Step on the Bamboo Pot) gives access to a cave and pothole where a brilliant masterpiece of cavish sportsmanship has been performed and that's it. ETYMOLOGY: No locally known name has been identified (if it exists) of what was nicknamed Rotten Bamboo (Burke 2004.02.19 Mss -Rotten Bamboo- 19.02.04) or Rotten Bamboo Pot (Arbenz, T 2004.02 Mss: Abstracts.xls) and, perhaps, but this is a fertile field of confusion, also Don't Step On The Bamboo Pot in addition to Noman's Pot (i.e. No Man's Pot instead of Neumann's Pot) and Lauman's Pot (note 1). Arbenz, T (2008 Mss -Fieldbook- 73, 81) suggests that –>Noman's Pot (which is definitely not connected with Krem Liat Prah) is identical with Rotten Bamboo Pot (which once had been believed to give access to Krem Liat Prah). This is probably not the case (note 2). SITUATION 1: Ludwig (2004.02.19 Mss) places Don't Step On The Bamboo Pot at a location close to Rotten Bambo Pot furher down the gully approximately 30 m. SITUATION 2: If further down (Ludwig 2004.02.19 Mss) in an unspecified direction is towards south-east, a spot horizontally 30 m in a direct line further down from Rotten Bamboo Pot (N25°21'50.2”: E092°31'44.8” ±24 m, WGS84, excessively lousy precision) lies near N25°21‘49.5”: E092°31‘45.6” (WGS84).SITUATION 3: Brooks (undated amendment to Ludwig 2004.02.19 Mss) places Don't Step on the Bamboo Pot is the same location as As rotten Bamboo Pot and once more draws attention to the world-wide unique phenomenon of different caves occupying one and the same location. This space warping and, if present, mind boggling phenomenon of simultanous double space recorded sports cavers on the Shongrim ridge over and over again. EXPLORATION HISTORY: 2004.02.19: Peter Ludwig and Daniel 'Danny Burke search for Snowman's pot but find a pothole cave entrance which they nicknamed Rotten Bamboo (Burke 2004.02.19 Mss: Rotten Bamboo). 2004.02.21: Peter Ludwig, Simon J. Brooks and Brian McCoitir entered Rotten Bamboo, explored and surveyed 110.16 m to a depth of 44 m (Arbenz, T 2004.02 Mss: Abstracts.xls) till they emerged in what appeared to be Krem –>Liat Prah (Brooks, S J amendment to Burke 2004.02.19 Mss: Rotten Bamboo) but failed to gather at which point.
