NOTE 1: »Hiroi Lampang« (HODSON, T C 1911 / 1989: 16) is not identified. NOTE 2: There is one village of Moirang (N24°30': E093°46' nima.mil/geonames, accessed 16.11.2003) on the south-western shore of Loktak Lake and 37 km along the road south-west from Imphal (India Road Atlas, Eicher Goodearth 2006: 47 E5, F5).
Somebody at Hiroi Lampang (note 1), a village in the south-east corner of Moirang valley (note 2), told HODSON, T C (1911 / 1989: 16) a legend according to which a deity armed with two horns had slain the horrible enemy who prevented their ancestors to leave their dwelling place, a cave on the Kang Mang Chin, a hill south of their present home.
