A relatively low (5 m wide, 1 m high), north-east facing cave entrance gives access to a some 8 m of roomy cave passage with a streamway in the floor of which the downstream (south-west) is blocked and the upstream is a 30 m long hands and knees crawl north-east to another choke (modified after Jarratt 1998.03.06 Mss "Meghalaya Cave Log" 6/3/98). ETYMOLOGY: The recorded cave names »Krem Umkhlo« (Jennifer A Brooks 1998.03.06 notebook) and »Krem Umkhlu« (Jarratt, A R 1998.03.06 Mss) after a certain Nigel or one Kham are versions of "Krem Umkhlaw" (standard Khasi) and signify a cave on an "um" or [stream of] water in the "khlaw" or forest. SITUATION: Unknown. The entrance to this cave was understood to lie at an estimated distance of 300 m or 10 walking minutes in an unknown direction from an unspecified point on a road in the village of Chiehruphi (note 1). POSITION: Unknown.
