An unspecified cave was said (Spindro Dkhar, Lumshnong, 1996) to give access to an unidentified cave of apparently considerable importance or size. IDENTITY: Unknown. ETYMOLOGY: The Synteng Khasi (Pnar) cave name "Krem Umthurong" (Spindro Dkhar, Lumshnong, 1996) signifies a "krem" or cave in the valley of the "um" or stream (of water) specified by an unidentified "thurong" or so (note 1). SITUATION: Unknown. For sure, however, at an unidentified location and in an unspecified setting which was said to lie at "a walking distance of one or two hours" in an unknown direction from the village of Lumshnong and, perhaps, either somewhere in the vicinity of the cave entrance to Krem –>Labit, Thangskai (±30 m 25°11'44”N: 92°21'48”E) or elsewhere.

NOTE 1: The standard Khasi noun "u trong" (SINGH, N 1906: 236) or, the same but smaller, "i trong" (SINGH, N 1920: 543) has been translated as »a tuft [of hair on the head]« (SINGH, N 1906: 236; SINGH, N 1920: 543) and was explained as "u phlang ba long kynthong" (SINGH, N 1920: 543) or »a bunch of grass« (hdg 2013.06.15). "u 'tiew" (Khasi; noun), a contraction of ”u syntiew” (SINGH, N 1906: 217; SINGH, N 1920: 185; BLAH, E 2007: 106; GURDON, P R T 1906: 189), »a flower« (SINGH, N 1906: 232; GURDON, P R T 1906: 9). "ka rong" (Khasi; noun) »the colour« (SINGH, N 1906: 175; SINGH, N 1920: 78; BLAH, E 2007: 54); »the paint« (SINGH, N 1906: 175); »a show; a display« (SINGH, N 1906: 175).
