Description
An unspecified cave entrance (unidentified shape, unidentified dimensions, unidentified orientation, unidentified peculiar characteristics) is said to give access to an estimated 30 m deep rift cave under (at the base of?) an estimated 30 m wide or high cliff exposing an unidentified sandstone (Boyes, P W 2000) beyond description. SITUATION 2000a: At a geographically and geologically fascinating location beyond the description power of a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (UK) which -- the location -- was understood to lie somewhere north of the road from Jowai to Dauki (after anynymous Boyes, P W 2000.02.18 Mss: -K3 (K4 ,K5 and K6)- dated 18/2/00 revised 21|4|00; Boyes, P W 2000.07.21 personal correspondence; Lizzie [Elizabeth] Elvidge 2000.02.18 Mss -K3, K4 ,K5 and K6- dated 18/2/00; BOYES, P W 2000 s.a.: 4, 8). SITUATION 2000b: Some 2 km in a direct line to the north-west of Nongtalang town and about 1 km as the crow flies north-north-west of Inspection Bungalow of Nongtalang(Paul WILKINSON, undated, circa 2000: -Sketch map showing the caves of Nongtalang-, square coordinate grid without geodetic datum, no scale, undefined magnetic? or geographic? north arrow, apparently compiled from GPS readings). APPROACH: Continuing along a road K5 can be located under a 30 m sandstone cliff to the north of the road (anonymous Boyes, P W 2000.02.18 Mss: -K3 (K4 ,K5 and K6)- dated 18/2/00 revised 21|4|00). CAVE DESCRIPTION 2000a: One among a group of small entrance (0.5 x 1 m) (Elvidge, E 2000.02.18 Mss -K3, K4 ,K5 and K6- dated 18/2/00).
