Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 28/03/2016

The mesolithic site Gupansar (GOSH 1989, vol. 2) in the Narangi valley could be the site from where V. S. Wakankar collected in the 1960-61 season microliths at some distance from the cave entrance (GOSH, A K 1961). Or is it –>Kotomsar Cave? SITUATION: The Narangi River joins near 19°11'N: 81°44'E (nima.mil/geonames accessed 16.11.2003) the north (orographically right) bank of the Indravati River at a spot that lies at a travelling distances of about 30 km along the road approximately WNW from Jagdalpur (19°04'N: 82°02'E) and less than 10 km ESE from Chitrakot (19°11'N: 81°43'E), the place from where COOPER, Zarine M (1983) reported unidentified »rock shelters and caves« south of –>Chitrakoot.
